What is SKIL ?
SKIL is an Independent Living Resource Center that began supplying services to Kansas in June 1992.
Two sisters Jeanette Pruitt and Marty Wooten petitioned the state and began assisting people mainly in the Southeast Kansas area. Today SKIL provides services to more than 4,500 people each year.
Center For Independent Lving
The term "center for independent living" means a consumer‑controlled, community‑based, cross‑disability, nonresidential private nonprofit agency that is designed and operated within a local community by individuals with disabilities and provides an array of independent living services.
