The Board of Directors of The Ralph Braun Foundation has been engaged in strategic planning with a goal of solidifying the mission and vision of the Foundation and establishing program guidelines. As an outcome of this session we are pleased to announce our first grant program. The intention of this program is to assist folks who have been through evaluation and have met with a certified mobility dealer to target the appropriate mobility product to meet their transportation needs. Pricing has been established and the individual is able to produce most of the purchase amount but still remains short of the total amount necessary to consummate the purchase. The Foundation will entertain proposals written by an applicant in conjunction with his/her mobility dealer for up to $5000. The mobility dealer must be a member in good standing of the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association.
The application can be found on their website by clicking here and must be completely filled out in combination with the mobility dealer. The application and supplemental information must be entirely submitted online by November 30, 2011. Funded applications must result in an equipment sale immediately. A project will not be funded if it cannot be demonstrated that all other funding has been secured. If the project is funded, the bill of sale will be submitted and the Ralph Braun Foundation check will be made to both the selling dealer and the applying client. All grant recipients must agree to have their story told on the foundation website as well as the Face book page. Applications will be review and selected for funding based on the information submitted in the application form and available resources. Applicants and dealers of the funded projects will be notified by Friday, December 16, 2011.
